Project Description

This residential project, located in the Erdek district of Balıkesir, is grounded in the idea of establishing a strong relationship with its natural context through the conceptual gesture of lifting the building mass from the ground. By physically detaching the structure from the topography, the design both respects the cyclical nature of the landscape and offers the user a heightened spatial awareness. This separation creates a void beneath the building, generating new opportunities for social functions; this space accommodates a swimming pool, relaxation areas, and parking facilities.

The upper volume, which contains the residential units, establishes a carefully considered relationship with its surroundings not only physically but also visually. Windows are designed not merely as openings for daylight, but as framing devices that open toward nature, each positioned to establish a deliberate connection with the landscape.

Material selections reflect the building’s minimal yet strong architectural character: the raw solidity of exposed concrete is balanced with copper detailing, while wooden sun-breakers and rope systems soften the composition and help integrate the building into its environment. Vegetation integrated into the shading systems gradually envelops the façade over time, allowing the structure to camouflage itself within the natural texture of the site.

The building is designed with a double-skin façade system, which enhances climatic comfort while transforming the envelope into a more responsive and living component. This permeable relationship with nature gives the project not only an aesthetic dimension but also a sustainable architectural identity.

Through its elevated massing and transient, lightweight relationship with the ground, the project proposes not permanence but rather a temporary pause in harmony with nature. It offers its users not just a residential environment, but a living experience that follows the rhythm of the landscape.
