Neuroplasticity

Küçükçiftlik's stuckness and problems are tried to be understood with the analogy of neuroplasticity. According to this analogy, the relationship between urban equipment is like the ties in brain cells. These bonds get stronger with frequent use and weaken with flexible use. The habits of the citizens and the plasticity of the impositions of the administrators are like this.

In this context, based on past maps and aerial photographs, the developed, worn and strengthened ties, functions and relations in the field from past to present are analyzed. It is determined that the supermodernity, which the city was exposed to for a short time at an unexpected moment, turned into an urban trauma.

None-Places

According to Mark Auge, no-place is a place of consumption far from being the space created by supermodernity. A person cannot establish a relationship with these places, he only creates a functional link to perform his action, which, after its expiration, breaks to attach to other places.

Kadırgalar Street, which passes through the middle of Küçükçiftlik, is forced into a consumer-consumption relationship with vehicles such as tunnels and stadiums on both sides. So much so that II. This area, on which Abdulhamid put the annotation "No construction is allowed" in 1908, starts to look like an area under the mat where the highway circulation can be solved by the administrators over time, which becomes the main factor that accelerates the disintegration process, gets stuck in the Maçka grove and is stressed.

Cultural Path

In the project no. 15, which is the winner of the Taksim competition and which is to be implemented, a Cultural Road starting from the Beyoğlu Tunnel and extending to the Maçka Park is recommended. In the project report, natural thresholds such as the topography between Maçka and Gezi Park were also mentioned, and artificial thresholds such as vehicle roads.

It is important that the project is articulated and a part of this Cultural Path with the routes and places of experience as a transitional step from the mentioned non-places to the places.

Taşkışla Street around Küçükçiftlik has the potential to be a valuable core for Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theatre, Nişantaşı, Akaretler, İnönü Park and Dolmabahçe, as well as being a stopping area that extends the Culture Road to Dolmabahçe and has the feature of an intermediate stop.

Concept map

A cinema-centered function is considered appropriate due to the recreational past of the area, the needs of the sector in question, and the contemporary actors of art and cinema, which are concentrated in the area's environment, due to the young and dynamic population.

The connection between the concepts of Cinema, Küçükçiftlik and Culture Road is revealed by the concept mapping method. Gazhane, which is part of Küçükçiftlik, used to illuminate the street lights, and today continues to function with the cultural experiences it carries, transforming it into a Cultural Road, but while doing all these, benefiting from the activities of the cinema such as seeing-seeing, watching-watching and conflict. clouds of ideas and thoughts are distilled in the concepts of dialectics and dialogue.

Dialectic, mutual saying in ancient Greek, arises from the origin of two languages (di+logos). The meaning it has gained in our age is the encounter of thesis and antithesis and the formation of synthesis. This birth state of the place is the hallmark of space.

Dialectics, Composition and Program

Theses and antithesis coexist, such as the old and the new, amateur and professional, independent and mainstream. Syntheses emerge from this state of being. These syntheses create original and qualified currents that have been discussed. Space is capable of doing this.

In space design, this dialectic continues with light and shadow, industrial and natural, public and private, open and closed spaces. All these contrasts produce works rich in composition, such as the contrast that emerges in the Ying-Yang circle.

There are three main goals in the program: These are the production, research and experience of cinema. Intersections emerge such as researching production, experiencing research, and producing experience. Architecture also reveals its social role precisely in these intersections. It shows itself.
